WHY CALISTHENICS?
The biggest reason why people switch to calisthenics is because of how fun they are—simple as that. Our clients get so much joy from being upside down doing handstands or headstands. Or take any exercise on a pull-up bar as an example—pull-ups, muscle-ups, front and back levers are all incredibly challenging, but you’ll have so much fun training them. One of the biggest reasons people stop training is because they get bored, and we’ve never met a person who got bored with calisthenics. It’s usually the opposite—people get more and more excited about unlocking new skills. It’s a slippery slope, we’re warning you!
Besides the fun aspect, it’s worth mentioning the safety aspect. Bodyweight training provides an incredible boost to your mobility and makes your joints and ligaments absolutely bulletproof. That’s why progressive calisthenics is, by far, the best method of working out if you want to avoid injuries during your workouts and prevent random injuries in your everyday life. Of course, one of the biggest benefits is that you can take your training with you anywhere you go, so you can keep training and getting results no matter where you are.
WHAT EXERCISES WILL WE DO?
We will do exercises that will make you stronger—that is going to be the focus of your program. Getting stronger will help you grow muscle, which, in return, will help you lose fat due to an increase in your metabolism. Examples of such exercises are push ups, pull ups, lunges and squats as well as more advanced exercises such as handstands, front lever, muscle-up, human flag and pistol squats once you get stronger. Any time our clients can't do a certain exercise, we make them do a regressed version (elevated push up instead of floor push ups for example). When our clients can comfortably do the exercise, then we do a progression (pistol squats instead of regular squats). The goal is to get to the next level, no matter where you are starting.
GOAL-SPECIFIC PERSONAL TRAINING
Our personal training clients come to us at different ages, with different goals, and, of course, with different bodies. This is why all programs will vary drastically from each other. However, one key component will always stay the same in all programs and that is calisthenics! We’ll never have you use weights or machines and the only weight that you’ll need to lift is your own bodyweight! Click here learn more about our training method.
YOU KNOW HOW TO USE WEIGHTS, BUT DO YOU KNOW HOW TO USE YOUR OWN BODY TO GET STRONGER?
